Eastern Region Interchange and Connectivity - Improving access to Lea Green Station

A CGI of the proposed new Lea Green StationSt Helens Borough Council is working with Merseytravel and Northern Rail to improve Lea Green rail station and access to it. Since 2018, more services stop at the station and offer more opportunities to travel across the UK.

We are currently putting together an application for funding to the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority's Transforming Cities Fund. By taking part in our survey, you will be helping us shape the project and understand if you like our proposals.

Our proposals for the ERIC (Eastern Region Interchange and Connectivity) project include:

  • Providing a new station building with better passenger facilities
  • Increasing the capacity for park and ride at the station
  • Creating safer routes for walking and cycling to the station
  • Making changes to the Bull & Dog junction to make it easier to use on foot and by cycle

This consultation is now closed. Thank you for taking part in the survey. Results from the survey are being analysed and will be published here soon.

The animated film of the proposals for the rail station and surrounding area is below.
