Libraries
Libraries across St Helens will close at 5pm on Tuesday 23rd December 2025 with St Helens Library and Newton-le-Willows Library closing at 1pm on Wednesday 24th December 2025
St Helens Library and Newton-le-Willows Library will be open in between Christmas and New Year.

| Saturday 27 December | St Helens Library & Newton-le-Willows library will be open 10am - 1pm |
| Monday 29 December | St Helens Library & Newton-le-Willows library will be open 10am - 5pm |
| Tuesday 30 December | St Helens Library & Newton-le-Willows library will be open 10am - 5pm |
| Wednesday 31 December | St Helens Library & Newton-le-Willows library will be open 10am - 1pm |
| Thursday 1 January | CLOSED |
Opening hours resume as usual from Friday 2nd January 2026 for all libraries with the exception of Haydock Library which will remain closed until March 2026, whilst it undergoes it's transformation into a SEND-friendly library. You can read about the temporary closure here.
All items that would normally be due back during the festive period will have an extended due date of Friday 2 January 2026.
