Flats Recycling
If you live in a block of flats in the borough of St Helens, your recycling will be different than other residential properties around St Helens. It will also be collected in one of our bin wagons.
The recycling is mixed and when our crews collect it, it goes to a MRF (Materials Recovery Facility) to be sorted and sent on to be 100% recycled.

You will have an 1100L blue recycling bin or several 240L blue recycling bins (depending on capacity)

You will have a 5L internal food caddy for your property, and there will be a 140L grey external bin for food waste in your bin store or communal area
Did you know ... If you recycle your food waste it gets turned into energy to heat your homes by going through an 8 step process called anaerobic digestion.
