Non Council Trees
If a tree is overgrowing from private land then it is the responsibility of the owner of the land or the occupier of the property to fix the issue. You need to contact the owner and resolve the issue between yourselves. If you are not sure who owns the land or the property, you can search the Land Registry website.
This includes if a tree is on land that belongs to a Housing Association, eg Torus, Your Housing Group etc, you will need to contact them to request assistance
Council Trees
St Helens Council do not prune or fell trees for the below reasons (This is not an exhaustive list, please see the Tree Policy for the full list and additional information on what you can do.)
- Tree overhanging property
- Tree and TV/ Satellite reception
- Tree and leaves falling
- Tree obstructing view
