Red Brow Wood

The Red Brow Wood Project is now successfully completed!

This is marking a significant milestone in the ongoing care and improvement of this valued local woodland.

The project set out to address a number of long‑standing issues within Red Brow Wood and has delivered a range of much needed improvements. These included essential drainage works, health and safety tree management, and the restoration of the footpath network, all of which will help to improve access, usability, and resilience of the site for years to come.

Thanks to these improvements, Red Brow Wood is now cleaner, safer, and more inviting for residents and visitors alike. The upgraded paths allow for easier and safer movement through the woodland, while the drainage works have reduced water logging and erosion, helping to protect both the landscape and wildlife. Health and safety tree works have also ensured that the site can be enjoyed with greater peace of mind.

The success of the project has been made possible through strong partnership working and community involvement. Groundwork, SCARS (Sankey Canal Restoration Society), and Wargrave Big Local have all played a crucial role in delivering the project, bringing expertise, resources, and local knowledge to the work. Their commitment has been instrumental in achieving such positive outcomes.

Equally important has been the contribution of volunteers from the local community, whose time, effort, and enthusiasm have helped to transform the woodland. Their involvement reflects the strong sense of local pride and care for Red Brow Wood and demonstrates the value of community-led action in improving shared green spaces.

With the completion of the project, the woodland is now better equipped to be enjoyed by walkers, families, and nature lovers, while also supporting the long-term health of the site. The improvements ensure that Red Brow Wood remains a welcoming and well‑maintained green space for the whole community.
