Early Years Qualifications List (EYQL) - New online formatThe Department for Education has launched an online version of the Early Years Qualifications List (EYQL) on GOV.UK. The EYQL helps users determine whether a qualification is recognised as 'full and relevant' for the purposes of working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) staff:child ratios in England. For users who wish to work offline, the full EYQL remains available to download. Early years managers and practitioners can also use the Check an Early Years Qualification (CEYQ) service to support qualification checks. Qualifications achieved outside the UK are not included on the EYQL. Holders of non-UK qualifications should continue to contact Ecctis for qualification recognition. |
Early years managers can use the new Check an early years qualification digital service to quickly verify whether staff qualifications meet the requirements for staff:child ratios in England.
The service can be accessed at https://check-an-early-years-qualification.gov.uk
This free GOV.UK tool allows managers to check a qualification's approval status by entering key details such as:
- course start date
- level
- awarding organisation
At the end of the process, a clear outcome is provided, which can be printed for your records.
