Council Tax

All domestic properties are subject to Council Tax, whether it is a house, flat, bungalow or certain caravans and whether it is owned or rented.

The Council Tax is a locally set tax, which helps to pay for the cost of local services. Although you probably won't use all the services available.

It also contributes to the services provided by the police and fire services.

Every property is allocated a valuation band. Each band pays a different amount of Council Tax (A is the lowest and H the highest) - View Council Tax Bands

Some properties and people will be exempt, and certain discounts and reductions can be claimed.
