New Mayor of St Helens Borough Sworn in for 2025-2026

Councillor Severiano Gomez-Aspron MBE has officially taken up the role of Mayor of St Helens Borough for 2025-2026, following a formal mayor-making ceremony held today (Wednesday 14 May) at St Helens Town Hall.

St Helens Borough Council presented with MOD Gold Employer Award During VE Day 80 Celebrations

As part of the Victory in Europe [VE] Day 80 commemorations , St Helens Borough Council welcomed members of the Armed Forces community — including a local Second World War veteran — to a special celebration event at St Helens Town Hall today (Thursday 8 May) which saw the council presented with a prestigious Gold Employer Recognition Award from the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
