Cashless Parking - Apcoa Connect Pay by Phone / App

The council currently offers a cashless parking option through Apcoa Connect Pay by Phone / App. 

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, to minimise contact with our pay and display machines for both customers and car park staff, this is the preferred method of payment at all council-run surface pay and display car parks and on-street pay and display machines. 

Pay by cash is available at Birchley Street Car Park if you cannot or do not wish to use Pay by Phone / App.

The 10p charge per transaction has been removed so there is no no additional charge to customers to use this service.

Once customers have registered, their details are retained to make parking even more convenient in the future.

Registration is easy and can be done via the following methods:

  • Online, before your visit - follow the on-screen instructions
  • Download the app for Android or iPhone - follow the on-screen instructions
  • Telephone 0345 434 8008
    • Call as soon as you have parked your vehicle
    • State the car park's location code - found on the pay and display signage
    • State the length of stay you require
    • Enter your payment card details
    • Reply to a text message confirming your registration number
    • Your parking is now paid

Details required to use the service are:

  • Mobile telephone number
  • Debit or credit card details
  • Location code - found on the pay and display signs
  • Registration numbers of the vehicle(s) you wish to use
