There's so much on offer at our children's centres, whether you are looking for fun activities, educational sessions, support or advice. Take a look at our current timetable to see what's taking place.

You are welcome to call in to our centres to find out more and to register your family.

Baby Groups

A group aimed at 0-1 year-olds to promote bonding and help develop skills. Meet new mums and dads as your baby learns through play.

Baby Cafes

The Infant Feeding Team's drop-in groups for all mums offering breast milk to babies. A chance to join other breastfeeding mums, have a nice cuppa and share experiences in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. A member of the Infant Feeding Team will be present at each session to answer any questions you may have.

Introducing Solid Foods

Offers a professional and caring approach to supporting mothers and families, to introduce solid food into a baby's diet.

Sessions take place once a month across the Children's Centres, please see the attached timetable for dates.

A stay and play session for grandparents and their grandchildren.

There are a variety of health and well-being sessions offered across the centres, including Fit for Life, Health Checks, Introducing Solid Foods and Drug and Alcohol misuse.

Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme)

Parenting courses for parents/carers with children

  • aged 0-12 years
  • teenagers
  • or children with a disability, developmental delay or conduct disorder

Freedom Programme

The Freedom Programme is open to any woman who wishes to learn more about domestic abuse. Being subject to constant abuse can have a serious and dramatic effect on their life. Many women feel they are to blame for the confusing mess that their lives have become.

Speech and Language Therapy and Chatterbox Groups

Support for children with speech and language developmental delays.  Please speak to your Health Visitor, GP, or any professional involved with your child to discuss a referral.

Me Time

A 7 week programme full of creative activities - for mums with children under 2.  Please speak to your Health Visitor to discuss a referral or self referral by contacting Central Link Children's Centre on 673444.

Ready for School

7 weekly sessions to ensure you're ready for school (referral from Nursery, Pre School and Health Visitors)

New Beginnings

A course for parents to be who require additional support to learn skills to care for their new baby including: Feeding, Bathing and Early Communication.  Please ring Central Link Children's Centre for more information on 01744 673444

A variety of educational classes take place across the Children's Centres, including:

  • First aid courses
  • English/Maths courses
  • English for speakers of other languages
