Adoption

Together for adoption is a new regional agency that integrates five local authorities – Cheshire West and Chester, Halton, St Helens, Warrington and Wigan.

In 2015 the government announced changes to the service, proposing that all adoption services should be delivered on a regional basis by 2020. New agencies, like Together for adoption, are aiming to:

  • Increase the number of children adopted
  • Reduce the length of time children wait to be adopted
  • Improve post adoption support services to families who have adopted
  • Reduce the number of adoption agencies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Together for Adoption has just one aim: to find the best adoptive parents and families for the children currently in our care.
