Severe Weather - Check in on your Neighbour

In this particularly cold weather, it's important everyone takes extra care when out and about but it's also important not to forget about our friends & neighbours, particularly those who are elderly, vulnerable and/or living alone.

Often, the weather may prevent people from getting out to the shops, attending hospital appointments or picking up those vital prescriptions, so just consider what you could do to help them get through the cold snap.

Check the temperature in their home too and help them maintain indoor temperatures to at least 18°C, particularly if they are not mobile, have a long term illness or are over 65. There are other tips on the Winter Warm page too.

Just 5 minutes of your time will make all the difference to them and most importantly could be a life-saver!

The NHS has information on how the cold weather can affect your health, so find out how to keep yourself well and your home warm during winter on Keep Warm & Keep Well.
