When is my bin day?

Recycling collections across the borough take place every week, this includes the black box, the blue bag, the pink bag and the food caddy.

The brown bin collection takes place every 2 weeks and alternates with your green bin (if you have one). All collections take place on the same day meaning you only have to remember one day of the week to present the recycling and rubbish.

Put your bin and recycling containers out by 6:30 am on your collection day.

Place your bin on the kerbside, for terraced houses place bins at the collection point at the end of the passage or alley.

Leave your bin with the handle facing towards the road.

Place recycling containers on the kerbside at the front of your property.

Remember...

Brown Waste

  • Make sure all non-recyclable rubbish is placed inside the brown bin and make sure the lid is closed, our collectors do have the right to refuse if this criteria is not met.
  • Each household/property is entitled to one brown bin.

Green Waste

  • Make sure all garden waste is placed inside the green bin and make sure the lid is closed, our collectors do have the right to refuse if this criteria is not met.
  • Each household/property is entitled to one green bin (where applicable).

Recycling

  • Make sure all recycling is in the correct container.
  • To prevent contamination rinse your food tins and jars - no food should remain in any items.

There could be a change to your collection day around a public holiday.

Calendars are individual to each property, and your collection dates may be different to your neighbours - sometimes properties on the same street are collected on different days.
