What you need to know about SEND Reforms

The Children and Families Bill 2014, states that every local council across England, must provide clear information about what help is available in their area for children with special educational needs or who have a disability, and are aged from birth to 25 years old. The information must be readily available from a single source of information. This is called the 'Local Offer'.

The purpose of the 'Local Offer' is to enable parents and young people to see more clearly what services are available for children with special educational needs and disabilities in their area, and how to access them.

The Government have developed guidance documents for parents and carers to advise as to how the changes to the SEN process will affect you, along with details about the local offer.
