ADDvanced Solutions

If your child presents with behaviours or characteristics you would like to learn more about, come along to discuss your concerns.

ADDvanced Solutions Community Network are a Community Interest Company, not for profit social enterprise, jointly commissioned by St Helens Local authority and CCG to work with families living with and struggling to cope with the daily challenges of unmanaged and unsupported neurodevelopmental conditions including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • HFA
  • Sensory processing difficulties
  • ADHD
  • Dyslexia
  • Ddyspraxia
  • Genetic conditions
  • Challenging behaviours
  • Communication difficulties
  • Special educational needs and disability

We support families before, during and after diagnosis to help them find the answers for themselves.

We deliver a Community Network group, where parents and carers meet to access informal learning, coaching and mentoring every Tuesday during term time, 12.45 – 2.45pm at the YMCA Beacon, 25 College Street, St Helens, WA10 1TF.

We also deliver a Neurodevelopmental Conditions Family Learning Programmes and Professionals Neurodevelopmental Conditions Awareness Raising Training. Please see details on the courses and support page.

Neurodevelopmental Conditions Family Learning Programme

What is this family learning programme about?

This 6 week programme has been developed for parents and carers of children and young people living with neurodevelopmental conditions. This may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, (ASD) Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, genetic conditions, communication difficulties, special educational needs and disability.

The Neurodevelopmental Conditions Family Learning Programme is delivered by our team of professionals who bring genuine insight and understanding from supporting their own families living with Neurodevelopmental conditions.

This is an evidenced based programme that aims to help parents and carers to understand and manage the presenting behaviours of their child or young person, identifying appropriate strategies to support them.

When and where is the programme run?

This Family Learning Programme is delivered for 2.5 hours each week over a period of 6 weekly sessions, with programmes being delivered either morning, afternoon or evening

There are 2 opportunities each half term to attend a learning programme and they are delivered in locations throughout the St Helens area to meet demand.

What does the programme cover?

  • Identifying neurodevelopmental conditions/learning and mental health difficulties
  • Identifying ASD
  • Identifying ADHD
  • Identifying Sensory Processing Difficulties
  • Identifying challenging behaviours including sleep, toileting, feeding, and behavioral difficulties
  • Identifying your local offer, welfare rights and educational support

How much does it cost?

The course is free to parent/carers in the St Helens area

How do I get a place on the programme?

If you are a parent or carer who has a child or young person presenting with a neurodevelopmental condition, or is pre, during or post diagnosis you can attend this learning programme.
