The Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment for 2018-2021 is now out for consultation.
The Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) describes the community pharmacies in the St Helens area, how these services are currently being delivered and what the current and potential need is for pharmacy services in St Helens.
The PNA is used to make decisions about whether we allow new pharmacies to open up in St Helens, as well as approving changes to existing pharmacies in St Helens e.g. if they want to move premises or provide more pharmacy services.
The People’s Board (having the statutory duties of a Health and Wellbeing Board) has an obligation to produce a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment every 3 years and to ensure any amendments to pharmaceutical need or provision during the 3 years is documented as supplementary statements.
As part of the production of the PNA, the regulations state that a 60 day consultation should be undertaken.
The consultation is now live until 8th December 2017 and includes an online survey which asks questions about the draft PNA document, links to both of these are below:
You need to have sight of the document whilst completing the survey.
Survey responses will be considered by the PNA Steering Group and the final document will be published by 1st April 2018.
