Local Wildlife Sites

Local wildlife sites are areas of land within north Merseyside which are especially rich in wildlife. These sites make a major contribution to the ecological diversity of the area and are part of our natural heritage. However, local wildlife sites are non-statutory and their indication does not dictate how the land is to be managed.

Within St Helens there are currently 116 local wildlife sites and a further 11 sites of local geological importance.
