The temporary centre provided bookable tests for people who are displaying symptoms of Covid -19.
Plans are progressing to open a new testing site in the borough to compliment the regional testing site at Haydock Park Racecourse and the mobile testing units that move around the borough each week based on the demand and number of cases in each ward.
There will be additional capacity with a mobile testing unit in place at Clifton Street Car Park, St Helens Town Centre from Friday 29th January up to and including Friday 5th February alongside testing at Fairclough Street Car Park in Earlestown tomorrow, Thursday and Saturday 30th January.
The new local testing site should be open in the coming week and more information will be available on St Helens Borough Council’s social media channels and website www.sthelens.gov.uk
If you have symptoms – a new, continuous cough, a high temperature or a loss of sense of smell or taste - please book a test online at www.gov.uk/coronavirus or call 119.
