Out of the 1979 applications received for September 2017, a total of 1901 (96.06 per cent) have been allocated first choice preference – up 2.27 per cent from last year - with 54 applicants receiving their second choice, and four receiving third choice.

Every St Helens applicant has been allocated a place at secondary school for September 2017.

Commenting on the news, St Helens Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Councillor Andy Bowden, said: “Every year our admissions team, secondary schools and academies work hard to get the right results for parents and guardians. I’m delighted that we’ve been able to accommodate so many first preference requests once again.”
