Article date - 28 February 2017

Business is booming at St Mary’s Market, thanks to the arrival of another six new stallholders.

Recent additions include Goths and Rockers, Star Badges and T-Shirts, One Hour Stitch, Girl Talk, Alter Ego Superheroes and Under the Sticks, taking the number of occupied units at the market up to 35.

Since moving back to the market earlier this month after a previous stint, Jill Twist, from Thatto Heath, who runs alternative clothing, jewellery and gifts stall Goths and Rockers, has enjoyed new found independence working from her stall - while Neil Mather, whose business ‘Star Badges and T-Shirts’ customises a range of items, has recently enjoyed a busy spell over the festive period.

Women’s fashion store Girl Talk, which enjoyed a number of years’ success in St Mary’s shopping arcade, is back open for business in St Mary’s Market – and for anyone needing emergency clothing repair can count on Lorraine Cullen and Christine Sheeran from ‘One Hours Stitch.’

St Mary’s Market is also delighted to welcome two very unique businesses under its roof. Alter Ego Superheroes, run by man and wife Adrian and Chris Moles from the town centre, has been open since December 2016 and offers its customers customised classic collectables from the world of comics, movies and TV series. And fans of Australian Rugby League no longer need to go out of town to get their hands on their favourite jersey since the opening of Under the Sticks.

Welcoming the latest stallholders to St Mary’s, Markets Manager Kevin Gavin said: “It’s always a pleasure to welcome new businesses to the St Mary’s Market family and I would like to wish them all the success in the world.

“We’re currently offering a nine month rental incentive to any traders selling unique commodities, which we’re confident will attract even more businesses to St Mary's Market."

Situated in the heart of St Helens town centre within St Mary's shopping arcade, St Mary’s Market is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm and is complete with baby changing facilities.

Free Wi-Fi is also available.
