Rainhill Rotary offers grants to local good causes

Article date - 21 February 2017

The Rainhill Rotary club has called out to charities and organisations that support people in St Helens, to apply for grants.

Rainhill Rotary has raised funds at recent events including the Santa Sleigh drive and the annual Beer Festival thanks to the generosity of the public and local business sponsors, which will now be made available to local good causes – from brass bands to play groups, and Scout units to dance troupes.

The club’s scheme is called Dragon’s Den, but it comes without the stress of the television show and its panel of business tycoons. To apply, organisations simply need to download and complete the application form from the Rainhill Rotary website, expressing how they and the people they support would benefit from a grant.

Previously grants have been given to organisations like the Honeyrose Foundation, Mind, St Helens Young Carers, St Helens Foodbank and local sports clubs like the Thatto Heath Crusaders, among many others.

For more information go to the above website or call the club’s Community Service Chair Gordon Webber on 01744 21739.
