Equality Policy

Our approach to meeting the duties of the Equality Act 2010 are set out in the Comprehensive Equality Policy

The Comprehensive Equality Policy covers the following protected characteristics

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Gender (sex)
  • Gender Reassignment
  • Marriage and Civil Partnership
  • Pregnancy and Maternity
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Race (ethnicity)
  • Religion

The Comprehensive Equality Policy has the following Equality Objectives.

  • Eliminate Unlawful Discrimination, Harassment And Victimisation
  • Advance Equality Of Opportunity
  • Foster Good Relations Between People In A Diverse Community

These objectives are based upon the General Duty of the Equality Act 2010.

This ensures that any action taken to achieve the objectives of the Comprehensive Equality Policy also demonstrate compliance with the General Duty of the Equality Act 2010.
