Testing for schools

Secondary schools and colleges in St Helens Borough are providing twice-weekly lateral flow tests for pupils, students and staff.

Nursery and primary school pupils will not be asked to test at this time, but they can attend one of the symptom-free testing sites with their family to get tested.

You can also collect a home testing kit from the following walk-in sites:

  • St Mary's Indoor Market, St Helens town centre
  • Chester Lane Community Centre, Sutton Manor

at the following times:

  • Monday to Friday, 8.30am–6pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 10am–3pm

There is no need to make an appointment to collect a home test kit. If you are 18 or over, you can collect two packs of home test kits; each pack contains seven tests.

If you cannot get tested at your workplace, or are unable to go to a test site or collect test kits, you can order a home test kit online. Please do not order online if you can get a test through other methods. This frees up home delivery for those who need it most.

If you test positive

If you test positive or have coronavirus symptoms, you should self-isolate immediately, inform your school or college and book a test online or call 119 to book a test.
