Introducing the #BetterThanThat Crew

ūü•áCompetition Timeūü•á

Being kind to others and teaching about diversity and inclusion is what our new #BetterThanThat crew is all about .......throw a family treat at Toast Coffee House and Cafe into the mix, and you've got the recipe for an AWESOME competition.

 

For a chance to win up to £25 worth of vouchers to spend at Toast Cafe & Coffee House in Denton's Green (home to amazing ice cream and fabulous milkshakes!) simply ask a young budding artist in your family to create a storyboard about what it means to be awesome and kind.... and send it in to us.

  • download our #BetterThanThat crew¬†storyboard template, or draw your own (A4 size)
  • ask your children to create a story about¬†why it‚Äôs important to be kind, to learn about our friends, and to include everybody in games and activities.
  • Email your entry to safercommunities@sthelens.gov.uk before Friday 30th April¬†

Toast Cafe

 

 

  • Ask your parent or carer if you can enter the competition - we need their permission that you can enter.¬†
  • Download and print our storyboard template and create your story.¬†

  • Take a photo or scan of your artwork.

  • Write¬†a sentence saying what would make you a good¬†#BetterThanThat Crew member.

  • Ask your parent or carer to email your artwork and sentence, along with your name and age - to the email below.

Entries are open from 9am BST on 1st April 2021 and close at 5pm BST on Friday 30th April 2021.

By submitting an entry via email, parents/carers give permission for their child to enter the competition.

‚ÄčWe'll share our favourite entries on social media and the winner will be revealed within a week of the closing date.

‚ÄčWe'll then contact your parent or carer to ensure delivery of the grand prize.

#BetterThanThat Crew Competition Small Print

‚ÄčThis is a prize competition:

  • Requiring submission of a creative artwork from a child of primary school age, via email
  • This competition is being promoted by St Helens Borough Council's Safer Communities Team
  • The competition is free to enter and requires no proof of purchase¬†

  • There are three prizes, for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place artworks. These are vouchers provided by Toast Cafe, St.Helens, 149 Denton's Green Lane, WA10 6RG. The cash value of the vouchers can only be spent in Toast Cafe, no cash alternative can or will be substituted.¬†

  • Vouchers are valid for a period of 12 months from the date of receipt.¬†
  • Entrants must have permission from their parent or carer

  • Entries must be submitted by the entrant‚Äôs parent or carer

  • Entries are restricted to one per entrant

  • Entrants must be resident in St Helens

  • Entrants retain copyright and their original artwork, only photos or scans should be emailed

  • There is no guarantee that we will be able to feature all designs submitted on our social media channels
  • Winners' names will be published on St Helens Borough¬†Council's website and social media channels

  • Any personal information published will be the minimum required in line with the¬†Privacy Statement

  • Entries can be submitted from 9am BST on¬†1st April 2021 until 5pm BST on 30th April 2021

  • Entries will be judged after the closing date and the winner(s) announced within a week of the closing date

  • Please note that this initiative is open to the children of employees at St Helens Council and its partnership members, as well as the general public
  • The competition judging panel consists of Councillor Jeanie Bell (Cabinet Member for Safer and Stronger Communities),¬†Jerry Harris (Safer Communities Manager, St Helens Borough¬†Council), Beverley Jonkers (Neighbourhood Support Officer - Safer Communities, St Helens Borough¬†Council) and Jennifer Kaye (Marketing and Communications Officer, St Helens Borough¬†Council)

  • The winning prize decision will be based on subjective interpretation, therefore, and in line with The British Code of Advertising, Sale Promotion and Direct Marketing (the CAP code), an independent judge has been appointed (name available on request)
