Best place to find information and services that your council provides...
St.Helens Council has adopted bylaws made pursuant to Section 77 of the Public Health Act 1961 for the purpose of securing the cleanliness of premises, equipment and persons employed therein carrying out a hairdressers or barbers business. In consequence all such premises must be registered with St.Helens Council before trading commences.
No fee is payable for this type of registration.
Once granted, there is no time limit on this type of registration, provided the details of the premises and the licence holder do not change.
Once an application has been submitted, arrangements will be made for an Environmental Health Officer to visit the premises to assess its fitness for purpose.
If you wish to make any changes to the premises licensed, or details of the licence holder change, please contact us for further advice. These registrations are not transferrable.
It is in the public interest that the licensing authority must process your application before it can be granted. If you have not heard from the authority within 10 working days of the application being deposited, please email Environmental Health for a progress report.
