Under the provisions of the Gambling Act 2005, the Council as a Licensing Authority is required to produce a 'Statement of Policy' which sets out how it intended to administer the Act . The first statement was published on 3 January 2007.
The Council as Licensing Authority is required to carry out a review of its statement at least every three years.
The Council's current Statement of Policy was approved on 12th October 2015, was published on 30th December 2015, and is effective from 31st January 2016.
The Statement of Policy is available for inspection at the Licensing and Land Charges Unit, Wesley House, Corporation Street, St Helens WA10 1HF. Copies are also available via Email.
