Once a valid application has been deposited there is a period of 28 days (starting the day after the application is given to the Licensing Authority) for 'responsible authorities' (e.g. Police, Environmental Health etc) and 'interested parties' to make representations if they believe the granting of the application could undermine one or more of the licensing objectives.
The applicant is required to publish a notice in a local newspaper and display a notice on the site or premises giving brief details of the proposal and the date by which any representations must be submitted to the Licensing Authority.
