Naming ceremonies

These ceremonies have no legal significance but are an opportunity to affirm or reaffirm special relationships and for family and friends to come together to celebrate and show support.

Naming ceremonies usually involve guide parents (or supporting adults) and grandparents.

You will be required to produce your child’s birth certificate at the register office and fill in a ceremony planning form.

The ceremonies are conducted by trained and experienced celebrants.

Ceremonies can be held at St Helens Town Hall Ceremony Room (Monday to Saturday only) or an approved venue.

To secure a date for your naming ceremony, there is a non-refundable provisional ceremony booking fee of £40.
