Marriage at approved venues in St Helens

Please visit our COVID-19 update page for the latest information.

An approved venue is a premise other than a religious building or register office that has been licensed for the celebration of marriages and civil partnerships. These may include hotels, stadiums, historic buildings and clubs. Below is a list of links to all venues currently approved in St Helens.

Please note that you will need to check prices and availability with the venue, and that the superintendent registrar is available to perform your ceremony on your chosen date at your selected venue.

There is a non-refundable £42 ceremony booking fee to secure the registrar's attendance.

As of 1 July 2021, civil weddings and partnerships are now permitted to take place outdoors in England and Wales.

Ceremonies can be held entirely outside at approved premises in our borough (listed below), providing couples with greater choice. The change applies to both existing approved premises and new applications.

The Superintendent Registrar and Approved Premises Licensing Officer are contacting all venues to discuss the change as on-site visits are required.
