Switch & Save

Switch and SaveSwitch & Save is a major new energy purchasing scheme run by St.Helens Council, intended to help local residents save money on their gas and electricity bills.

It works by negotiating with all the main suppliers as one big group in order to get a better deal. The more people interested, the bigger the potential discount, so we have teamed up with Greater Manchester in order to generate greater collective bargaining power.

Benefits

The scheme is open to all, and the main benefits are:

  • You could save £150 or more on one of your biggest bills
  • Potentially bigger savings than if you switch on your own
  • A simple and hassle-free process
  • The security of dealing with an experienced intermediary backed by the Council
  • It’s completely FREE and there is no obligation, so you have nothing to lose!

January 2013 Switch & Save Results

Nearly 1,000 local residents registered their interest during January for our first scheme. Using an average savings figure of £150, if even half of these switch suppliers the collective savings will be £75,000!

We will provide more detailed figures once we have the final results for the April 2013 round.
