The St Helens Open Art Competition

St. Helens holds an annual Open Art & Youth Open Art Competition every year.

They are open to anyone who lives, works or studies in St. Helens and all mediums can be entered.

You can download the Application Form from this website at the link above or alternatively pick up an Application Form from The World of Glass.

Submission dates for the 2015 competition are Saturday 18th July 12.00pm - 5.00pm & Monday 20th July, 4.00pm - 8.00pm.

The competition is open to anyone who lives, works or studies in St. Helens and is aged 16 and over.

Works are welcomed across all mediums, including:

  • Ceramics
  • Digital
  • Drawing
  • Glass
  • Painting
  • Photography
  • Sculpture
  • Mixed Media

Youth Open Art

This is for anyone who lives or studies in St. Helens and is aged up to and including 16 years old.

Works are welcomed across all mediums, including:

  • Drawing
  • Glass
  • Textiles
  • Sculpture
  • Painting
  • Printmaking
  • Mixed Media
  • Photography
  • Digital Media

Submission Dates

The 2015 Youth Open Art Exhibition took place 21st March - 15th May 2015. Submission dates for 2016 have not yet been announced.

Art Galleries

The borough's art galleries are based within The World of Glass and include The Godfrey Pilkington Art Gallery, Ground Floor Gallery One and Level One Gallery.

The Godfrey Pilkington Art Gallery is supported by St. Helens Council and The Rainford Trust.

Entrance is FREE to all the galleries.
