St Helens Council operate four markets throughout the Borough catering for all needs, from general retail to fresh produce from craft to bric-a brac, you will find something for everyone at St Helens markets.

St Mary's Indoor market

St Mary's Indoor market

St Mary's Indoor market first opened in 1990 this purpose built market consists of 59 stalls catering for all needs. Toiletries, Fashion, Haberdashery, footwear, Cushions & Curtains, Rugs, Childrens wear including School uniforms, quality pork and meat, plus a great deal more. You can also get your phones repaired your clothes altered and even your haircut and when you've finished all that you can put your feet up and enjoy a nice cuppa and a snack in the cafe.

Open Monday to Saturday 09.00am till 05.00pm, plus Sundays and late night shopping on the run up to Christmas

Charity / Temporary Car boot

St Helens Council will consider licensing temporary/Car boot sales held for charitable or fund raising purposes which are limited to a maximum of 50 spaces/cars and where each and every vendor is restricted to the sale or display of articles surplus to their own domestic requirements, normally described as a jumble or bric-a-brac and /including books, records, small second hand domestic furniture and equipment etc. Vendors selling new items and goods "bought in" for resale, including bric-a-brac etc will not be permitted.

Earlestown Historic market

Earlestown historic market was first established over 700 years ago and is still going strong today. Whats not changed is the atmosphere a traditional market brings to any town, with over 150 stalls and a great range of products on offer you're certain to pickup a bargain.

You will find good quality fresh products like fruit and vegetables, fresh fish,cheese,olives, bakery products and a fantastic meat auction also mens and ladies fashion, baby wear,household plus lots, lots, more.

The market takes place every Friday throughout the year from 09.00am to 17.00pm

Situated in the centre of Earlestown, which is accessible from M62, M6 and A580. There is free parking available and both the bus and train stations are very close by.There are public toilets on site and a number of cafes surround the market area.

Earlestown Saturday market

Saturday Car boot Earlestown

Earlestown Saturday Car boot, Second hand, Flea and Craft  market was first established in 1987. This popular event is a great place to pick up a bargain or if you fancy yourself as a bit of a Dell boy, it's a great way of clearing out your unwanted items. You will also find Craft, Bric-a-brac and old collectable items.

 

The market takes place every Saturday throughout the year  from 08.00am till 16.00 pm on the same site as the Friday market.

Situated in the centre of Earlestown, which is accessible from M62,M6 and A580. There is free parking available and both the bus and train stations are very close by. There are public toilets on site and a number of cafes surround the market area.

If you wish to trade on the market, we start allocating at 08.30 on a first come first served basis, leave your vehicle off site and queue up outside the office which is situated in the building at the corner of the market square. Please see below for prices and prohibited goods.

Prohibited Goods

All new products, Counterfeit or copy goods including CD's DVD's and Videos, all food lines, sweets, drinks, newspapers, magazines, tobacco, alcohol, catalogue returns, or seconds and damaged stock. Weapons of all description,

Under Health and Safety the following second hand goods are prohibited from sale. All cookers and Fires (gas/electric) All washing machines and fridges, All cosmetics and toiletries, All babies and children's car seats. Persons found selling prohibited goods will be asked to remove the goods from sale or leave the site immediately.

The market officers are required as part of their official duties to inspect all items brought onto the Saturday market. All goods brought onto the market will be deemed for sale, whether packed in a vehicle or displayed on a pitch. Chalon Way Sunday Car boot

Chalon Way Sunday Car boot

Chalon Way Sunday Car boot started in 1979 this is one of the most popular events of it's kind in the Northwest. Situated in and around the multi-storey Car park next door to the World of Glass which also open every Sunday. 

Opening times are 06.30am to 14.00pm every Sunday throughout the year

Catering units and toilets are provided on site and free public parking is available at both St Mary's and Tontine multi storey car parks from 06.00am 

No pre booking is available, just turn up on the day, but please be aware it is advisable to arrive earlier for queuing purposes.

Please note: There is a 'No Smoking' policy inside the multi-storey Car park
