St Helens Council has extensive land holdings within the Borough, which are managed by the Property Team within the Estates Section. We are located in the Town Hall, Victoria Square, St Helens and can be contacted on tel. No. 01744 676130

Who are the Estates Section, what is their role and whom do I contact if I have a query ?

The Estates Section forms part of the Urban Regeneration and Housing Department. We are an experienced and dedicated team of professional staff, estates assistants, records officer and technical support.

What do we do?

Our role is to ensure that the Council's property (both land and buildings) is used effectively and efficiently as possible, balancing the best financial return with the Council's corporate aims and objectives. We are responsible for :-

Buying and selling property

Valuing property

Facilitating property development within the Borough

Negotiating the Council's occupation of other peoples property and arranging for others to occupy our own property

The management of the Council's investment portfolio in order to maximise the financial return

Maximising the financial and business opportunities of our property assets

The sale of surplus land and property in order to generate capital receipts and promote development within the Borough

Maintain property records of Council ownership, occupation and use

Provide property advice and support to all other Council departments as well as Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority

Ensuring that the Council has the right operational property and that its requirements are constantly reviewed.

Land for sale

LAND AT QUEENS ROAD, HAYDOCK-For sale by tender.

 The Council is disposing of the freehold interest in approximately 567sqm of land by way of tender. This site is in an area of predominantly residential dwellings with St Helens town centre approximately 4 miles away. Although there are no planning permissions in place, a residential proposal such as a pair of semi detached dwellings would be considered. LAND AT PECKERS HILL ROAD, SUTTON, ST HELENS-For sale by tender.

 The Council is disposing of the freehold interest in approximately 316sqm of land by way of tender. In an area of predominantly residential dwellings, convenient for all local amenities, St Helens town centre is approximately 2 miles away. LAND AT LANGTREE STREET, ST HELENS-For sale by tender.

 The Council is disposing of the freehold interest in approximately 329sqm of land by way of tender. In an area of residential and commercial properties, within a short distance of  the A580 which gives direct access to the M6 & M62 motorways  St Helens town centre is approximately 1 mile away.
